2021 has been a tough year in the travel and tourism industry. To ease the impact, AABBA is offering you continuation of your membership at no cost for 2021. We are all in this together, and we appreciate your partnership. May 2021 see us thrive!
2020 March 11 Special Event for Local Trade & Tourism Businesses
The Anchorage Alaska Bed & Breakfast Association (AABBA) is sponsoring an educational event intended for persons in tourism and travel businesses, basics of preparedness planning for Covid19 and other infectious diseases will be covered for small businesses. Planning for personal and staff safety as well as visitor safety will be presented, along with discussion of sources of accurate information sources. Participants will be able to pose questions to the State of Alaska Chief Medical Officer. Small group discussions on issues such as responding to travelers’ concerns about traveling safely this summer will end the workshop. Registration is required.
As employers, do you know your responsibilities to your personnel if an incident arises? Do you have guidelines in place for attendance if personnel feel ill with Covid19 symptoms? Are you prepared if staff call in, needing to stay home with dependents if a family member’s work/school/summer daycare is quarantined?
Are you communicating sufficiently to dispel rumors, anxieties, incorrect information, and to stop any ‘gossip’ about visitors’ home countries/cities?
What is your backup plan if needed supplies become unavailable due to decreased shipment or other logistical problems-how will you maintain normal operations?
Have you instituted practices for cleaning all commonly touched surfaces as well as practicing hand hygiene correctly? [Does that plan include the remote control in your room, for example?]
Please join us on March 11, 2020. Advance registration required. To register and get details, go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AABBAkeepwell
