See a Show, Stay a Night

See a show, stay a night…get more at a B&B!

With the recent sell-out of “Beauty and the Beast” presented by the Anchorage Concert Association (ACA) at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (otherwise known as the PAC), many folks came from all over Alaska to partake of the show and all Anchorage has to offer in mid-January.  There are several more blockbusters coming to Anchorage by the ACA and if you don’t have your tickets already, and your room reservations, you may want to hop to it sooner than later.

The Capitol Steps, a troupe of one-time congressional staffers turned comedians, return to the PAC for the third time.  Happening just after Super Tuesday, this night will be memorable and full of laughter.  Last time they were here our very own Sarah Palin had just been named McCain’s running mate.  They did incredible things with local news and had the audience in tears from the laughter than inspired!  Happening February 3 and 4.
Lily Tomlin graces the stage for one show only March 31st.  If you don’t get your tickets quickly there won’t be any to get when you finally get around to getting them.  The queen of comedy makes many of her classic characters come to life in her one-woman show.

If you love 80s music, get your seat for Rock of Ages, the final musical of the season, running May 17-23.  It’s a five-time Tony nominee with lots of great music you’ll just have to sing along to.

For information and tickets contact www.anchorageconcerts.org or call 272-1471.  It’s not too late to subscribe…with any 3 shows you get discounts and advance warnings of new shows!

Couple these shows with a stay in your favorite local bed & breakfast and you’ve got a fun evening!  Most B&Bs are less expensive than local hotels, provide breakfast, have free off-street parking, and are usually quieter, more secluded, and more comfortable than a noisy, busy hotel.
